"HOW TO MANAGE HEATSTROKE"
Introduction
Heatstroke is a medical condition caused by failure of the heat regulatory mechanism of the body. This condition is mainly occurring during the summer session or extended heat wave, especially when they are accompanied high humidity.
When heat stroke occurs, the body temperature can rise to 106-degree Fahrenheit or higher or higher within 10-15 min. It is a medical emergency can cause death or permanent disability if emergency treatment is not given.
This problem occurs when we are outside or there are hot places inside, then heatstroke can occur. Consuming hydrating fruits is very beneficial to avoid extreme heat and heatstroke, but if you are taking too much then ask a doctor.
Excess always harmful, we should consume fruits and vegetables according to the season, but excess of any kind is harmful. Therefore, never consume seasonal fruits in large quantities with the thought of staying hydrated for a long time, which can harm you. You should consume these fruits in right quantity. Fruits or vegetables available during summer put stress on the kidneys, which leads to Kidneys have trouble doing their work.
Management of heatstroke: - Temperature is raising to 106 degrees Fahrenheit which lead to heat strokes, laziness, dizziness, dryness, altered mental state, rapid breathing, nausea vomiting fatigue and dehydration.

Eat Water melon, muskmelon, Litchi, plum or other seasonal fruits which you like. Add fresh Lemon, Mint, Tulsi to a jug of water and keep drinking throughout the day. Take coconut water, this natural drink riches with minerals like sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, zinc and amino acids which nourishes the body. Avoid processed drinks (soft drinks, fruit drinks, energy drinks) as mostly drinks contain high- fructose corn syrup (HFCS).
Buttermilk or raita should be in your diet in summer times. Onion prevents sun strokes in summer so don't forget to add raw onion in salad. Eat cucumber, it helps you to stay healthy, hydrated and refreshed. Eat light foods and eat less in quantity of food specially in summers session.
Wear loose fitting, light weight cotton/linen clothing in summer. Light colour reflects most of the sun radiations resulting low temperature. To protect from tanning and overexposure to UV rays, try to cover your body with full sleeve or cap.
Sun Shades, sun scream, curtains, blinds and Sun control Windows films can reduce the amount of heat that passes into your home.
Keep your workouts in cooler places, try to do your exercises in early morning. Choose indoor exercises, gym or swimming over strenuous outdoor exercises. Take a drink every 15 minutes, even when you're not thirsty.
Take low flow shower twice a day, it keeps body temperature down but it doesn't mean to waste water. Use talcum powder.
Some key points kept in your mind during summer session
- Wear cotton white dresses as much as you can.
- Drink AAM PANNA, COLD ROOAFZA, SHAKES (COLD DRINKS FROM SHOP IS NOT GOOD AS IT CAUSES OSSIFICATION MEANS DEGENERATION OF BONES).
- Carry an onion on your bag, it is little bit awkward but onion contain volatile oils which maintain our body temperature and protect from loo as well.
- Take a shower twice a day like morning and before going to sleep.
- Apply some cool powder on your neck and chest for cooling effect and prevent over sweating and you can also apply little bit coconut oil to overcome the unpleasant odour from sweat.
- you can sponge your body with wet towel if you don't have a time to take shower at night.
- Last but not least is to apply Multaani mitti on your face at night and wash when it dry or after 10/15 minute (strongly recommended).
